The Story of Stretchy Pants Food Tours!
Stretchy Pants, founded by food enthusiast Kara in San Francisco, emerged from her love of cooking, exploring new foods, and traveling. Kara, with seven years of experience in the food industry, started as a prep cook and waitress, later specializing in bakery science and developing cookies for various food service providers. After pursuing an M.A. in business, inspired by her travels to over 65 countries, Kara combined her passions for food and travel to create Stretchy Pants.
Ruby, Kara’s college friend, joined the venture. With a background in international business and anthropology, Ruby focused on international high technology law but was drawn to the importance of food in culture. Realizing the joy of good food and companionship, she embraced the Stretchy Pants movement. Stretchy Pants Food Tours promotes exploring local cuisines and connecting with communities, reflecting Kara and Ruby’s belief in the significance of food in understanding a city’s essence.
